Hi I was wondering if anyone can help.

I found out that for a new British passport you have to request a new one from Hong Kong. So while I await my new passport as my current one has only 1 page left; I do have the problem that my Non-O Visa runs out on Oct 5th (12 months will be up, so want to do the run for the extra 3 months).

Now my plan was to do a visa run to Mae Sot this Monday as that will only use up 1 page - however, I've just found out they have closed this border.

I live in Bangkok, does anybody have any other recommendations; can I:

1) Do a visa run to either Ranong or Mae Sai - will this just use up one page?

2) Can I get an extention from the Immigration office and if so, would I need to take other info with me?

Any help or advice will be much appreciated.

You are the third person to post today about running out of pages in a passport:

There should be some info in those 2 threads to cover your questions, perhaps. :whistling:

Cheers, guess we've all left it to the last minutes.

Bit of a head rush to find the answers; never checked beforehead. Both threads don't have the answer I'm looking for but maybe one will add something later.

Going to head for Ranong I think.

I'd suggest Malaysia too, no visa stamp to fill up the page. Bit of a trek if you don't fly mind.

Can you still get an e-visa for Cambodia? Just need space for entry / exit stamps then. Here http://www.mfaic.gov.kh/evisa/ NOTE There are reports of a scam involving the e-visa, anyone actually got one of these and made it work?

The passport renewal service from HK is actually pretty good, I got mine in 14 days door to door (despite the scary numbers quoted on the website).

Haven't used it myself, but never seen or heard about any scams about the Cambodia evisa. If I remember correctly it's a Singaporean company that does them and all reports I've seen have been positive.

Just have to realize that the evisas are only valid at a few checkpoints.

Cheers for the replies - may have to do the Malaysia one.

Anybody know if I just need one page for Ranong? As that's a bit closer to Bangkok, I'd prefer to do that route.

Ranong: You need 1/2 to 2/3 of a page for Thai In/Out plus the reasonably small Burmese In/Out Passport Stamps.

Don't buy anything illegal in Burma, Thai Customs normally do bag checks on the way back.

Malaysia is similar in terms of stamps, but you don't need the $10 fee, or to pay for a Long Tail ferry across an Estuary.

It used to be possible to get 60 days extension at an immigration office for 1,900 Baht....if you cant then Ranong is the nearest for stamps without the need for a full page visa. If you go to Ranong, I would recommend doing by the Andaman Club, its 850baht all inclusive so you dont need $10 etc and is no queing etc. If you want to stay the night in their hotel it is 1,900 for one night or 2,500 for 2 nights, breakfast included...good swimming pool, gym, sauna, casino, restaurant and duty free shop.....makes a visa run a pleasent experience for only 2,300 Baht more than the long tail boats....google them for contact details

Only when you are married to Thai national or have a child with Thai nationality can you get a 60 day extension of stay.
