Questions About Yaowarat

Featured Replies

Hi i am at bkk now and i have ran out of markets to go in the morning to shop(i've visited pratunam area, bobae and jatujak)

I am planning to go yaowarat tomorrow but is it open on Sunday?

Also, any good breakfast place there to recommend?

Also if you know the time they open and close please share too :)

Yaowarat is a Road, not a market, so it is always open. But, there are several different sub-markets in little side soi's. Some of those seem to operate only Sat.'s and Sun.'s. others only in the evenings.

Most of the shops are open on sundays, but they close earlier.

There is a night market in Ratchawong street in Yaowarat that opens at midnight on Saturdays.

Also there is a night market at Saphan Poot, just north of  Yaowarat.

Saphan Poot (Memorial Bridge) is south of Yaowarat, not north, as stated above. The market there is open in the evenings.

Sampeng lane is just one long market, open 7 days a week.Closes only for Chinese New Year, 1 week. A lot of it is wholesale. It runs for a few kilometres and is always very crowded. Starts at the beginning of Chinatown ,off Yaowarat and finishes in Little India, at Pahurat road. An incredible range of merchandise. Give yourself plenty of time to saunter forth. Enjoy!!

Soi 16 (chinese food market), dimsum shop up the end, about 3 stalls back (best in Bangkok), next door, wanton and duck noodle, open early till around 6 evening.
