boredinbangkok
Hi, i got my 8th tonsilitis this year. Never had any problems with my tonsils until the rainy season started. So for now its like every 2-3 weeks and i have to take anti-biotics to get rid of it. Did anyone got their tonsils removed in bangkok? Whats the procedure like? Should i just wait until the rainy season is over and hope for the better? I read a lot of downsides regarding the tonsil removement. Easy to get infects etc.. Hope to get some advice. CobraSnakeNecktie
Once they have been infected a lot then the tonsils become pitted and infect easily. Not a lot of downside of getting them removed. You just have to decide what method they use to remove them. Dissection and snare method Electrocautery Radiofrequency ablation Carbon dioxide laser Laser Ablation Sometimes they try to largely remove them and other times just remove some of the tissue that had the recesses that would tend to get infected. Kind of depends on your budget, condition of your tonsils and preferences. Find at Otolaryngologist at a well equipped hospital and go from there. After an exam a good Dr. can offer the pro's and con's of each technique. I got mine yanked 20 years ago and no throat infections since then. mommysboy
8 times in the last few months. Are you sure? I'd get confirmed diagnosis first from a reliable source. Surgery is routine I believe, but I think the general rule is surgery as a last option.

And sometimes the problem arises from nasal and sinus problems, with infected material dripping in to throat. Pollution being a big problem out here. Especially true in places like Bangkok and Chiang Mai. Take a step back and look at this problem.
