Biggest Burger In Bangkok, Free If U Can Finish It

I just got back from the Cafe Europe, a Danish cafe on Sukhumvit Soi 20.

My belly is about to split. I tried the burger challenge with a buddy of mine and we both failed.

It was an outstanding burger.

So far (they say) two people have done it, both Irish and one being a fit 17 yo girl.

Maybe so, but I'd have to see it to believe it. They have a picture, but........

It's a 5 lb monster burger. 795 baht, or free if you can eat it all.

I'm a big fat guy and didn't stand a chance. Anyway they have live music tonight and good beer, but I had to go home.

I feel sick. Hope you fare better.

It's the best place to have a bite and drink a beer I've seen in a decade, nice couple running it with nice kids.

Surely there is a US citizen out there who could down these? You only have to look at the obesity problem across the US now from junk food to know there has to be multiples out there who could do this in one sitting! LOL wink.gif Come to BKK and feed. But like beer - you only ever 'rent' it and all things come to pass!

It's hard to see the appeal of attempting that, but regarding the comment about obese people winning eating competitions, I think that is wrong. It is mostly fit people who are the most successful mass eaters, for what that's worth, which in my view, is nothing.

These Burgers are Dangerous!!

Quote:

In a Voice of America report, prothodontist Ansgar Cheng said dentists in Asia are seeing more jaw disorders among its growing middle class because they are eating big-sized Western-style fast food.

Cheng said his training makes him an expert in temporomandibular joint disorder, also known as TMJ. It is a painful condition that occurs when the joint that connects the jaw to the skull becomes inflamed, making chewing painful.

He said many of the TMJ disorders he treats are caused by people eating super-sized burgers.

"On average most Asians are petite-sized people so, in general, we could say our jaw openings are somewhat smaller than Westerners," Cheng said.

Cheng said he recommends his patients order smaller burgers because Asians trying to fit a Big Mac into their mouths could overstretch their chewing muscles, damage mouth cartilage or possibly dislocate theirs jaws.

Well smth that big you aren't going to treat it like a normal size burger so jaw problems is a bit silly. You cut it up into bite size pieces then eat it. One hel_l of a burger though and I can imagine you might spend the nite in the loo after trying to do this.

I know a German guy who loves to eat at the 139bath eat-as-much-as-you-can mukkataas or BBQ restaurants (I'd rather call them eat-factories) and prepares himself with a plastic bag inside his bag, putting it between his legs, in which he can unseen let things disappear, like a kilo of shrimps or/and a kilo of chickenlegs etc., then at home he has a second party for free...

who would want to, just a stupid advertising gimic, that has more chancr of making you sick

Not so stupid. It has at least one thread advertising it. If so many are unable to finish it, they are making quite a bit from each burger. Think about it.

Competitive eating championships/challenges are a big thing in the states. Just do a YouTube search. Seems that some people there spend most of their time going from restaurant to restaurant attempting to beat the respective eating challenges.

Me personally - I find the whole thing a bit distasteful(no pun intended) - but then each to his own.
