Prawit No Longer Accepts Salary, Entitlement Pay As MP
This guy and his cronies are all on such a stupid level that it´s unfathomable. Unfortunately, over 50% of Thais will see this as a good thing. In reality it is not a good thing at all. What he is showing, is total lack of interest for his work and the country´s wellbeing. And now, he tries to refuse payment and payback earlier payment for what he call missed or leave from parliament. He have neglected his duties as an elected MP in the parliament. He has refused to serve the people, and until now, taken payment for it. He have taken a position for a long time, that somebody with interest to do his work could have held and maybe made a difference. (Not likely, but the thought is beautiful). He should be prosecuted and jailed for his negligence and unlawful holding of position as well as scamming money from the government. This only give a clear signal that all scammers just can regret and pay back and avoid punishment for their actions. -

Aftermath of Hurricane Helene: Power Outages, Rescue Efforts, and Rising Death Toll
If they don't work, why is FEMA making such a big deal out of sending a couple of dozen of them? Meanwhile, Musk has donated 500 units, sending them to a deplorable (a NASCAR driver, even. Yuck), who is going to distribute them using his own helicopter. https://www.pcmag.com/news/elon-musk-uses-starlink-access-in-north-carolina-to-slam-fcc-support-trump https://www.nextbigfuture.com/2024/10/500-starlink-kits-donated-for-post-hurricane-north-carolina-communications.html -

Bank of Thailand Intervenes to Manage Baht's Exchange Rate
Bali and Japan send their thanks to the assistant governor for the additional tourists. The impact on the already oversupplied and crumbling property market will be interesting. I can't see anyone with sense dropping THB on overpriced stock with the added pressure. Most people visting or buying in Thailand do not operate from a USD base, so are exposed to a 10% upward price shift on everything. -

Trump Too Scared To Appear On 60 Minutes
For over 50 years this has been a presidential candidate's tradition. Trump did it in 2020, but where is now? He's as scared as a mouse in a room full of cats. -
