Esri Map Garmin 205W

Featured Replies

Hi i purchased a nuvi 205 in Pattaya a couple of months ago, i liked it so much i wished i had got the bigger 205w. i went back to th UK last week and they are half the price as in 205 £50 and 205w £89 so i purchased a 205w with the intention of selling the 205 here. i assumed i could load the ESRI map off the cd i got with the 205 here, i took off the europe map and put on the Thai map, message said map locked. is there a way around this. i had saved the europe map so put it back on. if i just buy sd card should it work in the europe 205w or should the map i have on the cd work on the 205w anyway.

if i buy a sd card does the 205w just pick it up automatically meaning i can have europe and thai map on.

hope that all makes sence.

It depends on the unlock codes generated for the map. If the codes were generated based on Nuvi's Unit ID, then the map would only work in that particular Nuvi, regardless whether it is installed in Nuvi's memory or Nuvi's data card. If the codes were generated based on the data card's Card ID, and the map is installed in the data card, the card would work in any supported Garmin devices.
