In many countries there is the red cross. You go there and give blood, knowing people who are in need get blood or plasma products. If you have geed luck you get a milk shake and a hot-dog

Where do I do this in Bangkok.

Thai Red Cross is on Henri Dunant road, a bit past a part of Chulalongkorn University. You can walk there in about 15 mins from the Novotel Hotel end of Siam Square, or ask a taxi driver to go to the 'sa-paa-gaa-chaat thai' (สภากาชาดไทย).

I did the same after the tsunami, and it was all very easy though there were long queues then. They had lots of English speaking volunteers and reassured you it was sterilised needles etc...

At the Thai Red Cross (Saowapa) next to Chulalongkorn Hospital on Rama IV Road. Just by the snake farm. Normal office hours.

You'll get a biscuit, a hot drink and a very nice smile. One of the volunteer nurses there is Bernard Trink's wife. She is a retired teacher and a charming and helpful lady.

Hungry? :o

Go to the nearest gouvernment hospital and ask for the blood bank. Avoid lunchtime, not after 3 pm.

If you are curious about HIV you can leave your phonenumber...
