One report indicated at least one person was killed. The accident involving an unknown type plane happened just before noon local time, according to Cameron Heke, a spokesman for STARS air ambulance helicopters. He said the accident happened near the Kirby Lake airstrip near Conklin, a hamlet in northern Alberta province. Heke said their helicopter was told to stand down while en-route to the scene and said other agencies were handling the emergency response. He said at least 10 passengers were on board, but did not know if this included the crew of the airport. Multiple injuries were reported, said Heke, but he did not know their conditions. CTV Edmonton reported that at least one person was killed. -- © BNO News All rights reserved 2010-10-
