I flew my dog from perth earlier this year. What a major major hassle. About 7 trips to the vet, numerous visits to customs in Oz with the total cost including bribes to customs in Thailand over $3000 AUD. I would use a company called dogtainers to do it for you. You can look them up in the phone book. I would try to help you but it is SO complicated you would not believe. It makes a Visa application to Oz look straightforward. Australian quarantine are however very helpful and will send you information. Even if you have all the paperwork and import permits you will still need to pay a bribe of between 15000 and 30000B to have your dog clear customs in Bangkok. Dont land after 10am or you will be back the next day to try and clear your dog. Oh and be aware you will NEVER be able to bring your dog home to Australia.

I just read Jan 2011, you probably dont have enough time to get all the vaccinations and paperwork in order before then. You must ring AQIS in Australia and your vet and start the ball rolling immediately. You have no idea how drawn out and expensive this process is.

the right way

- email minimum 15 days before flight following documents to [email protected] tel 02 134 07 32

-fotokopie passport owner of dog

-all fligtdetaiös

-international vacinebook

-foto of dog

-country of origen

-document in englsich, from the goverment verterinary office of your country with proof of health of dog

within 7 day reuturning relevant info, on arrival at the airport the vet. office issue importdocument for fee of 100baht

if all papper cleard in advance , no problem

this is if you come for holiday, if you tell them dog stay forever in thailand, there could be quarantaine or other problems requiereing new documents

not forget in the book all necessary vacines must have

If you put a couple of puppies in the same cage for me...I could go you halves in the cost.....are you sending them accompanied baggage or as freight ?

I have someone at customs that can expedite the through process for very little money....not the 15k/30k mentioned.

I know the 15/30k is a real situation, i had this happen to me 8 years ago for 15/18k from memory

I brought two dogs and a cat into Thailand (via Bangkok) and had to pay nothing except the cost of the import certificates (I think it was about 300 baht each). However, I had a ton of paperwork with me and was very well prepared. I had the import permit emailed to me in advance as well. Lapamita is right about the procedure (you have to send all that to get the permit back via email). When they sent me the email, they told me I needed to call three days in advance to confirm I was coming so they would wait for me. I did. Getting through customs was a breeze.

I also don't understand why you need more than a month to do everything. The only requirement to enter Thailand is that vaccines are applied at least 30 days in advance.
