Departure Tax

Featured Replies

Anyone know if there is an international departure tax at Suvarnabhumi, and if so is it usually included in the ticket price?

Yes and yes.

Do you know of any international airport in the world which does charge a departure tax?

Yes, for example in Manila you still pay cash when departing ;)

Um, my bad somehow I missed out the word NOT. Yes, Manila, Yangoon & Surabaya etc are examples of airports which still require a seperate cash payment rather than having the airline include it in the ticket price.

My query to the OP is there any airport in the world which does NOT charge a departure tax?

That was a response to the first question as I cannot imagine any airport in the world not charging such a charge. Maybe in a post conflict setting?

Thai Airways included the 700 Baht Airport tax in my international E-ticket but because I left the airport (my connecting flight was next day), I had to pay the airport tax again. So, be careful.

Hmm it used to be 500 baht I guess it's gone up?

I used to always have to pay the 500 baht at the airport at a seperate dest and when you went to go through the Entry gate they would ask you for the bill or reciept and if you didn't have it, off to the tax desk.
