Border Run Andaman Club

Are the organized border runs only to Malaysia? Last year I did a border run to the andaman club in Myanmar and prefer to do that again over racing to Malaysia. Or are there others who need to do a border run soon? Then we can take my car and we can share the cost and maybe have few pints in vibrant ranong, if we can't make it back the same day. Driving solo will make it nearly as expensive as flying to subang with firefly.

I prefer driving myself in comfort, safety and at my own speed to Ranong or Sadao, over being cramped in a minivan doing 140+ km/hr racing to Malaysia. Although I prefer the more scenic route to Ranong, the added cost of the visa and ferry to the Andaman Club, will make this trip more expensive than the drive to Sadao.

Diesel: 2000 (2400)

ferry (+ driver): 450

extra pax: 140

Guideline for taking Big C; In order to protect his identity wrap a plastic bag over his head and some ducktape over his mouth...

Quick question fro the experienced border runners:

Close to Sadao, should I keep driving straight, following Highway 4 and take the Sadao crossing, or turn right towards the Padang Besar crossing? I don't want the hassle of taking my car across, so does anyone know where the motorbike taxis are located to take you across and back? Do they have the arrival/departure cards there as well?

You can walk it at Pedang Besar if you wish, it's not far.

However we always drive around in the car. It's no hassle and you don't need any paperwork for the car.

You will need to fill in a Thai TM card for re-entry, but I did the run last week and the Malaysian side have stopped requiring you fill in their arrival/departure cards. Much quicker now, stamp in and stamp out. Easy.

You can walk it at Pedang Besar if you wish, it's not far.

there are bike taxis everywhere that go up and down the border. u can park your car on the right habd side.

get the taxi man who knows all the immergration to take u across. he will get u a form. then drive u back. u then check back into thailand go to arrivals. with your filled out arrival form. then jump in yr car and off and away.

by the way can i come. u can thai me to a parasending rope with a parachute. can contact via radio. i can jump the que by parachuting into malaysia.

Good break, ususally stay overnight in the Tinadee Hotel in Ranong. However, on my next trip I fancy a flutter but Andaman Club fully booked.

My question is (as there does not appear to be a telephone number on the hotel's website) if I'm not staying at the Andaman Club, as a non guest, would I still be able to play in the gaming room when I do my exit/entry stamp trip to the island?

Advice from anyone who knows the answer to his much appreciated.

Good break, ususally stay overnight in the Tinadee Hotel in Ranong. However, on my next trip I fancy a flutter but Andaman Club fully booked.

My question is (as there does not appear to be a telephone number on the hotel's website) if I'm not staying at the Andaman Club, as a non guest, would I still be able to play in the gaming room when I do my exit/entry stamp trip to the island?

Advice from anyone who knows the answer to his much appreciated.

hold on sadao takes u to malaysia u r going completly the wrong way if u want to cross over to burmer. my advice is U - turn

The answer to your question is yes, you can gamble if you are not staying at the andaman hotel,i,ve done it a few times.

I am very surprised you said the hotel was full, every time i,ve gone its always been empty.May be theres something on that week.

The tinnadee looks nice i think they wanted 4000 baht last time i went there, i stayed round the corner in sunny guest house very nice and cheap

If you want to play upstairs in the big money gaming hall, you have to wear long trousers and shirt, and you have to prove you have at least 20000 baht on you.

i was told trousers, and the other answer is yes.

The first time i went only had shorts on, they let me in but i had to wear a sarong

there are 2 casino halls, 1 downstairs where any amount of money can be used, this casino has mostly fruit machines and electronic roulette wheels, and the prices are 40 baht a go

The 2nd casino room is upstairs and this is the big money and smart dress code is in place, if you changed 20000 baht and not used it all i,m sure you can change it back.

Here the roulette tables are i think 200 baht for 1 chip, and 500baht minimum for black jack
