True Internet Protocol- Adsl+ Annex M?

Featured Replies

Does True support also ADSL+ Annex M (for 8MBit connections)?

ToT use ADSL+ Annex M, I got some problems with my router which is not Annex M ready :-(

Since ADSL2+ Annex M is an international standard, I expect all the ISP's use it for service above 4Mb. I know Annex M primarily focuses on the upstream rate, but it seems many ISP use ADSL2+ Annex M for their 6Mb and up packages, whether using 512Kb or 1Mb upload speed with the package.

Additionally, are you sure your modem/router is not Annex M ready? Some modem/router's like my ZyXel modem don't even offer any manually selectable standards/annexes as it selects the correct one automatically; my Billion modem selects the standard/annex automatically also but does allow manual selection also just in case it didn't select the correct standard/annex automatically per its manual. You sure your modem/router don't support Annex M as Annex M has been around for a while...does the router's spec sheet state it doen't support Annex M, or is it because you just can't seem to find a menu setting/display for it? And I guess I should also ask are you talking a separate router feed by your ADSL modem, or actually a combo modem/router which many refer to as just a router now days?

But if it comes down to a router you've had for a l....o....n....g time and it was made before Annex M became a standard/the norm, probably time for you to buy a new one.
