i been trying to find out which diesel is better and provides more power and improves the performance of the vehicle. there are like so many different Oil companies in thailand. so what to choose from?

1. PTT - Diesel (HSD, 0.035%S)

2. PTT - B5 (HSD-B5) @ Bio-diesel

3. Bangchak BCP - Diesel (HSD, 0.035%S)

4. Bangchak BCP - B5 (HSD-B5) @ Bio-diesel

5. Shell - V-Power Diesel

6. Esso - Diesel

7. Caltex (Chevron) - Diesel

8. Petronas - Diesel

Diesel as above-mentioned are all High Speed Diesel with 0.05% Sulphur content. so which is better?

difference between B5 and Diesel - performance based?

V power VS PTT diesel?

I use ESSO B5 in my Triton after contacting Mitsu direct and their reply which said B5 was perfectly acceptable in my pickup.

I have noticed absolutely no difference in performance since changing from regular diesel.

so did u notice any noticeable savings? or is the B5 having higher burn rate and cause the no difference in cost efficiency ?

Unless Iam out on a road trip I only fill with #1 (PTT- diesel), as a rule of thumb I try to only use the same petrol station as well.

Out on a trip, what ever is available when I need to fill up.

guys mix some Castrol 2T engine oil in with your fuel you will notice the difference over time. check it out plenty of info on the web. I've been using for over a year.

2t oil in a commonrail diesel? why

EuroIII B5 lubricates with Sulphur, 650ppm as I recall

Euro IV with new modern lubricants, non polluting

2t oil, makes illegal pollution and a sooted engine reducing power

Ok just search the web for Diesel with Castrol 2T plenty of explanation. As for for less power or sooty engine if you don't no don't say. Also with less sulfur in diesel now won't that reduce the amount of lubrication the pump gets or are the oil companies adding some additive to fix this.

yepp synthetic additives are added to replace sulphur as lubricant for valves/head, and injectionsystem.

these additives are more expensive, thus Euro IV diesel like Shell V Power more expensive

2T oil in Euro IV car is an expensive experience, clogged partickelfilter at 30-80k baht. engine stops

Sorry, should have put in my vote :)

I use V-Power diesel exclusively.

V-Power gives a massive reduction in black smoke under acceleration, plus smoother/quieter idle and running. Power and economy (km/l not baht/km) are also improved over the regular Euro III diesels listed, but not enough to warrant the price premium, so don't buy it to save money ;)

dont see any one here using the esso nor the petronas diesel.

The station I use the most is an Esso and I fill-up with diesel. I have an 8 year-old Toyota "commonrail' diesel truck and it runs fine on this fuel.

Sure, but remove your cat and overfuel your engine until it makes 32% more HP and you probably will ;)

Coming from a fuel retailer in Thailand - are you guys actually sure you are getting V-Power fuel at the pump? A high percentage of filling stations are privately owned & in this day & age where margins are so tight, fuel theft by the delivery companies and own staff a huge problem, the private retailers quite often buy fuel from anywhere that has a good price on the day, which is usually not from the main distributor. Shell in the case of V-Power. :whistling:
