buckeye
Hi here in Maesot the bridge to Burma is still closed. A friend today went to immigration office to get a 30 extension on a double tourist visa and was asked for B20000 show money, as per a new rule being enforced. By the way the person applying was well dressed with all forms filled out. This is very NEW for MAESOT!!!

orang37
Sawasdee Khrup, Khun Buckeye, You may want to repost, or move, this to the main TV Visa forum where some real "visa gurus," like Lopburi3, hang out. The one "Catch-22," we'd like to remind you of is that a double-entry tourist visa has a date on it titled "Enter Before" and that absolutely means that your second entry must be activated before or on that date. "Enter Before" means that both entries must be used by that date. Our current double-entry was issued Oct. 26, that, theoretically gives us two months: assuming you always "lose a day" that means that some time around Dec. 24 we'll need to either: 1. do a run to Mae Sai to activate the second entry for another two months 2. or, pay 1900 baht for a month's extension at CM Immigration Suppose you choose option #2: you get a month extension on the 22-23rd. ... let's assume, per usual, another day "disappears" ... so now you are legally here until January 21-22 or so. But the "Enter Before" date is January 25: so, okay, no problem, you run up to Mae Sai, and activate the second entry before the 25th., and you got another two months. But, suppose you get sick, or apply for a week's more extension at CM immigration : and they'll be happy to sell you a week's extension. Then, you go to Mae Sai, and it's after the 25th.: you are certainly "legally" in-country, but you are now past the double-entry "Enter Before" date: and now you find your entry number two is invalid, and you get fifteen days, or less, or worse. So, we hope we don't sound like your obsessive-compulsive Aunt Sally who's always telling you to floss, but, please, do keep your eyes on those dates best, ~o:37; Edited November 20, 2010 by orang37
