"Britain, Britain, Britain!"

It's a Sunday Afternoon here in New York, and flipping thru the Cable channels, looking for something to watch. Only thing interesting at first was I started to watch a boring scoreless New York Mets baseball game against the LA Dogers. ( I'm not a big Mets fan, so I kept searching. )

I finally saw something that caught my eye on the BBC America channel. It was a scene with what looked like that place the Britsh Prime minister in London stays at

( 10 Downing street?) with a British Policeman standing guard in front. Then this guy moves a giant red sign with the word "<deleted>' in big white letters, with an arrow pointing to the policeman ( or the door? )

The policeman/guard was going to chase the guy, but he couldn't leave his post. He had to stay there with the big sign next to him... Soon after there was a funny sketch with the Prime Minister ( that guy that used to play "Giles" on Buffy the Vampire Slayer" show ), and his lovestruck aide..... :D

It seems like I came in during a Little Britain Marathon on BBC America. I have heard of the show from friends, and from mentions on ThaiVisa, but I never got around to checking it out. I've only been watching it for five hours of the first season, but it's now my favorite TV show! It's so freaking funny! It's like getting a funny peek at "real" British culture. So many great chracters, ( Now I finally know what DaveinThailand's Avatar is of "Little" Vicky... :D ) - even the Narrator is funny!

( "Next week....."Coupling", or something....." )

The writers/Actors, Mat and Dave, are brilliant! I really like when they do "Lou and Andy"... :D

They said that the DVD is going to be released here in America this Tuesday, I'll be sure to pick it up! And the new Season is going to premiere here soon also. I can't wait!

Little Britain almost makes me almost actually want to go to Britain "On Holiday" to see if British people are really like this in real life......... :D

I wonder if there will ever be a version called "Little Thailand"..... :o:D

"I want that one......."

Lou & Andy my fav:

"Now, are you sure you want that one?..." "Yeah, that one!"

Later:

"Don't like it!".

:o

Ernie/Emily:

"I am a lady, I do lady's things of course!" (emphatic;)

Marjorie:

"What else is low in fat? Anybody? Dust! Anybody? Dust! Anybody? Dust!"

or, "I mean, who'd want that grinding on top of them all night long?"

Vicky:

"I didn't even do nuffin, or nuffin"

Daffyd:

"I am a gay homosexual" (In response to somebody asking him what his job is...)

:D

I STILL say cross dressing appears to be an English obsession (long before Little Britain or Benny Hill or "Carry on" or...) Me? Naaa, "I'm a Lumberjack and I'm ok... " :D:D

Would a "gay homosexual" be "straight"? Sorta like a double negative being a plus?

Maybe I should ask on the gay forum? Then again, maybe not.....

Yeah Little Britain is a winner for sure, it's always nice to see British humour being apprecated by our friends across the pond.

I strongly suggest you look out for Julia Davis's "Nighty Night" this is another BBC production, a very dark comedy series, but i think you would like it.

Please don't think that all Brits are the same as portrayed in Little Britain, only 90% or so.

They done a lot of the filming in my home town and I'm told they're maniacs in real life.

Re "Coupling" if you've watched the really bad watered down American version, don't write it off.#

Coupling (the Uk and original version) is absolutely brilliant. Went a little downhill after the Welsh Guy left, but series 1 and 2 will have you wetting yourself :o

Wow an american with a sense of humour - how did that happen??

I believe it started around 1776..... :o:D:D

LOL! :D

Markuk, find an old "larry Sandler Show" or maybe watch "The Daily Show with Jon Stewart", or even "Arrested Development" sitcom. All tickle my knickers. They're out there alright- ok, gotta look around a bit but... :D

Edit/ mixed up the posters names- corrected :D
