Does anyone know the current waiting times for FLR (0), we have now been waiting 5 weeks and havent heard anything apart from confirmation that they received the letter few days after we sent the application. I phoned today but they said they could not give me any information regarding my gf's application unless it takes longer than 14 weeks. Problem is we was planning a trip to thailand in febuary and they wont send back my gf's passport unless we cancel the application.

Is taking 14 weeks or longer common and is it usually decided within this time period?

UK Border Agency Web site says postal applications 95% are settled in 6 months.

If you were planing a trip maybe you should have gone in person. I know it's a lot more expensive but they state that 90% are done within 24 Hrs 6 moths seems a long time to wait.

I suppose they have to say that so you don't have you on the phone every other day

Yes im starting to think i should have gone in person, it was just paying the extra cash what put me off as the postal application was expensive enough.

Does anyone know, if we dont hear a response to the visa application by next month could we go in and pay the extra 300 pound and get the fast 24 hour service?
