Hummers

Featured Replies

some of you have got to know the owner(s) of the increasing number of Hummers (Humvees) on the island. please contact me by PM as i have a ton of clients arriving that need luxury/unique vehicles for rent over the holidays. i'll provide drivers or they can provide the owner can provide the driver, either way the guests will not be operating them.

contact the tourist police for the silver one ....

but i highly doubt any of the owners will rent out there toy...

you can rent Landrover Discovery's on the island

I very much doubt that the owners of such vehicles would need to rent them out after having the money to buy them in the first place. I know I wouldn't want mine rented out if I had one. You could always try to lease one from the importer ? I know I struggled to get a nice 7 seater for my customers over the Xmas period.Good luck though.

i've seen a couple hummers driving past me with for sale signs in the window but i wasn't able to get the number. lol though at hummers being anything luxurious. i used to live 15 minutes away from the factory where they are all built and they are nothing but disposable crap that needs constant repair. they aren't even particularly expensive, just unique to the area and that's what my clients want, and will pay for.

5.5mio baht is not expensive at all but it's all relative i guess. one of my customers buys a bmw 7 series so his friend now has to get a nicer new car. samui is only one of their monthly holidays during the year and if i could effectively store a hummer for each of them upon their return, i would. they save 5.5 million baht easily here vs. that same holiday in switzerland.

I do have an H2. I also don't think that it should be considered as a luxury car. It is expensive in this country because of the taxes.

However, what I can also say is that the H2 is the most enjoyable car I ever owned. It is a question of taste, of course.

And regarding the repairs, I never had any problem yet. I live in the north and met the owner of a casino that is on the Laos'side. They also bought 11 H2 that they use as transfer limos. Unique indeed.

gerry if you want to rent that out i can get 5-7k per day for it depending upon driver source.

boater, i guarantee my clients would rent that one and they would buy bottles of champagne for the drive to nikki beach where they would buy more champagne just to spray on everyone else.

now this is a hummer

You can even have it is a nice and discreet color LOL

the hummer is more expensive then the discovery which can be rented here on samui for 40 K a day , so i think if someone was going to rent it out it would be more like 45 K a day

pls pm contact details for that discovery if you have it.

and for the record, a certain 5 star resort that owns several land rovers rents them to me with driver for 100-150USD per day depending on season.

this is incorrect, they dont own them, but rent them from a company in bangkok, this is the same company that also can rent out the discovery here in Samui

I have an H2 also (all though it's been left in storage to collect dust in canada) and I must agree to it being the most enjoyable reliable truck I

ever owned. I would agree that is not a Luxury car but disagree that it is disposable crap, that's really untrue.

I haven't seen any Hummers H1 on the island or H2's which are both trucks I love but I would have to say are to wide to be comfortable driving here.

are the one's seen around the island the H3 puddle jumpers? i can see how they could be considered crap having test driving a coulple

If 5.5m is what the H2's are selling for here that's enough to make me want to import mine here to sell it, even with the 300% import tax lol!

whether they own or rent is immaterial. they are renting them to me at 1/5th of the cost as advertised through that link and that's what really matters. seriously looks like i'll have to start a dedicated transport team now because we are demonstrating regular demand but no one local to fill the need and that's a lot of money not being spent. good thing there are 738 italian restaurants though.

;) Agreed, so impractical for Samui and just too wide to take any of the 4WD trails that cover 85% of the island. To do it properly you need a Japanese 4WD pickup diesel and where are the Greenies on this super gas guzzler ? Hummers and Nikki Beach, they deserve each other and just can't believe Natalie and Donkey haven't covered these Frothies on their Samui Channel show yet !

Which is approximately 90% cheaper than the Price mentioned a few Posts above the one i'm quoting !!!!

i was pretty shocked when they offered me that price the first time. i was scrambling to accommodate a group that just ballooned from 20 to 40 overnight, all of course requiring nice vehicles with drivers (not mini bus or taxi) and they said 100 bucks per full day.

i suppose there is a difference between an individual calling in requesting a service and arranging transport for large groups of people that are occupying most of their villas and several residences.
