Gender Ratio In Thailand

A couple of times, people have tried to convince me that the Thai population is disproportionately female, by a ratio of 2-to-1 or even 4-to 1. I haven't been able to verify this from published population stats, or from casual observation. But maybe....

Does anyone have info about this? Is there a factual basis, or is it an 'urban myth'? Appreciate any data or observations.
