U.S. Senate votes to repeal 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell'

2010-12-19 03:27:01 GMT+7 (ICT)

WASHINGTON, D.C. (BNO NEWS) -- The U.S. Senate on Saturday voted to repeal a military ban on openly gay troops, sending the historic bill to President Barack Obama for his signature.

Obama, as well as Pentagon officials, must now certify that lifting the ban will not adversely affect the military. This, however, is not expected to be a problem.
