Bhumipol Bridge

Featured Replies

I see this bridge often when I go to Samut Sakorn / Rama II Road but have not yet had the chance to use it - although I often used the Ferries which I imagine are now defunct.

Watched it being built too - a very impressive piece of engineering.

A couple of very good photographs in this piece too.

The pedestrian and vehicle ferries are still working under the bridge. The majority of the users are now motorcycles and some local car traffic...Bht25 for a car. The bridge is free. The bridge will soon become more useful when the road link, now under construction, connects the south end of the bridges to the outer ring road directly down the east bank of the river. Now you need to cross over the first bridge and exit onto Suksawat Road and then drive down the west bank of the river through heavy traffic before you can access the outer ringroad.
