A 23yr old friend of my kids was found dead on Tuesday.

He had a needle sticking out of his arm.

His phunking mother ......was all for show and pretence of normality. keeping up with the joneses.

I'm really angry at the moment,

My commiserations, I know what it is like to lose a frind to drugs.

Don't feel angry with yourself as there is very little you could have done, although I know that is how we feel somtimes.

The heroin addict must reach his own "bottom" and very very sadly sometimes this means death.

He's not taking it well and needs support right now.

Positive comments only please.

At 23 he's an adult. Why is it his mother's fault?

Sorry for your loss.

I found out not long ago that my cousin killed himself through being involved in drugs, whether using or suppling it is a very dangerous game.

I lost a friend to drugs when she was 24. Her parents always ignored her cries for help because she was an embarassment to the family.

Sad, sad, sad! Sorry to hear your loss Nickerelastic.

Waste of life, never saw the point in drugs personally. :o

People with problems usually turn to drugs because they simply can not deal with them aswell as others. It isn't their fault. They are mentally incapable of seeking help and some don't realise their own problems. Some drug users hide it as best they can and are often unable to tell friends and family around them so don't feel guilty Nickerelastic it wasn't your fault. Try to come to terms with that and in the meantime hang on in there :D

And lots of other young drug users take them because they're fun. As they grow older and their interests change they stop taking them and move on.

Know this, the pain is gone, the confusion ended, the place is may not be one you would want a friend to be. But it is ended and the fight of the needle and damage done is now over.

Hug your kids, and have a nice meal together and know your love for them is both your counsel and your umbrella. Dont blame your self you were powerless against this evil.
