ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Cheers TP.I do wish you well. Health and business wise. Re' your new business venture. What image do you want the name to project? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> .We are aiming at luchtime local business trade from the freight offices and tourists, I will have to spend a bit of money getting how I want it. At present it closes at 6pm, but there are a lot of ex-pats that live in the region so when we extend the opening hours we would like to reach them via a good marketing campaingn. We have a large screen TV and want to replace all the sala'a as they are not that great. But I have told my Wife that the project is not a bottomless pit, so we will have to see how it goes. At present it does not serve ANY western food, we will change that shortly, but we take over 1st Sept, so time is now running out. Thanx for your question TP
Thetyim Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I am with Drawstring on this one, I don't like any of the four choices How about "The Bottomless Tip"
Jai Dee Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 There is already a resort garden and golf club called the Rose Garden NW of Bangkok... I wouldn't recommend a name resembling an existing establishment. How about "Siam Rose"? Taoism: shit happens Buddhism: if shit happens, it isn't really shit Islam: if shit happens, it is the will of Allah Catholicism: if shit happens, you deserve it Judaism: why does this shit always happen to us? Atheism: I don't believe this shit
ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 I am with Drawstring on this one, I don't like any of the four choicesHow about "The Bottomless Tip" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> or 'The Money Pit" Loads goes in-little comes out
Jomtienwow Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 I also don't like any of the choices very much, but must admit they are better than the name that popped into my head, Giardia Gardens.
Nickerelastic Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 TP you know that no matter the name of your new venture. Good food, ambience, service, will determine The Nic' your place has.
thaiflyer1 Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 How about "The Office" that way no one need ever lie to thier missus again................."Hi love i/m still at the office"
Thetyim Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Why don't you give up, Pauly Call it the "No Name Restaurant"
Nickerelastic Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Drawstring <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I suggest your drawstring is much bigger than my nickerelastic?
Thetyim Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Sorry, BloomerCord, cannot comment as I have no idea how big yours is.
Nickerelastic Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Sorry, BloomerCord, cannot comment as I have no idea how big yours is. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> off topic I have to @ Thetyim
ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 How about "The Office" that way no one need ever lie to thier missus again................."Hi love i/m still at the office" <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Oh my God TF, I cant call it THE OFFICE, folks night think its an offshoot of the one on Suk 33 in BK. No doubt I would be packed out with single male farangs and no SHORT TIME ROOMS PS Their adds are good though erm I'm still at THE OFFICE TERACK
ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 This is not turning out to be as simple as I first imagined it to be, there are so manty GOOD names thrown in by you guys. Think I will just call it "Thai Pauly's and be done with it. Anyone agree??
ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 Or 'The Load of <deleted>, or Shitfaced Again"
cobra Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 OK, so when does this Secret Siam Garden of the Rose open again, I want to make sure I have enough fake Raybans, Rolex's and novelty lighters for your customers, PS: I'll be bringing the elephant by too,
Thetyim Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 How about;-My Thai or Mai Thai Restaurant Chucok, That is not funny and in very bad taste. You should apologize to Paul immediately. You know full well that Tippawan will never agree to that. And another thing you have mis-spelt or
chuchok Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 How about;-My Thai or Mai Thai Restaurant <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chucok, That is not funny and in very bad taste. You should apologize to Paul immediately. You know full well that Tippawan will never agree to that. And another thing you have mis-spelt or <{POST_SNAPBACK}> eh Mai Thai is actually the name of the most succesful Thai resturant in New Zealand. They charge outrageous prices, are always full and have been around for 25 years
Thetyim Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 Read it again Chuchok and don't forget the "or"
Boo Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 TP, Will it have much of a garden? You said it had grass but will you put in plants & things? If your not planning on going the full hog on the garden then the having garden in the name would be a bit of a deception IMO. My personal thought would be to call it the "Chilli Tree", then get a bunch of small chilli plants & dot them around the place on shelves, in big pots on the floor & in the garden area. The name would appeal to both thai & western clientel esp if you put "Thai & European Cuisine" but the name is easily identifiable to both kinds of patron
Boo Posted August 30, 2005 Posted August 30, 2005 p.s. let us know where it is so I can come for lunch when we are back in bangers

Unfortunatley it is in Hang Dong, nr Chaing Mai, so when you are up this way would be pleased to meet you I have just showed my Wife that Rose Garden is not doing well in the poll and she is NOT impressed!!!
ThaiPauly Posted August 30, 2005 Author Posted August 30, 2005 How about;-My Thai or Mai Thai Restaurant <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Chucok, That is not funny and in very bad taste. You know full well that Tippawan will never agree to that. And another thing you have mis-spelt or eh mmm.. ok try this. On a day out at the river, a guy is with his wife rowing in a boat. The guy accidently hits an old guy in a passing row boat with an oar. "Hey! Watch what you're doing with that oar!" say the old man. "She's no 'ore, she's my wife" says the guy.
