Fuchs Corneal Distrophy

Featured Replies

Anyone know of a good eye specialist in Bangkok who can do corneal transplants

for people suffering Fuchs corneal dystrophy

Rutnin Eye Hiospital http://www.rutnin.com/eng/html/eye_h.html

It has a special corneal transplant clinic. Use their website to request an appointment with one of the doctors therein. unfortunately their website doesn't give details of individual doctor qualifications, but I know that many of them are board certified in the US. I suggest you specifically ask for a doctor in the cornea transplant clinic who is certified by the America Board of Opthmalogy, among other things this will assure a good level of English and familiarity with how Western patients expect to be treated (Thai medical culture involves far less explanation and back-and-forth discussion between patient & doc).

Rutnin is the country's premier eye hospital and feedback from TV members who have gone there has been overwhelmingly favorable.
