piet pompies
The last two times within the last month I had to clear immigration in Chiangmai. The immigration officer had a mounted camera on the front of his desk and took a picture. This does not happen in BKK. Anywhere else?

ovenman
This does not happen in BKK. I'd swear that inbound immigrations at Don Muang did the digital photograph too, the last time I passed thru there in late-July.

Too bad many people know about it now. I was talking to an official of a well know government, an arm of enforcement They wanted to keep it under raps to catch bad guys; now that it’s public it did not serve the purpose to which it was truly intended Sorry for the misunderstand but I am here to make sure the misunderstanding gets misunderstood understand Anyway there are other cameras but not live feed; they will begin using other, stills at the new airport something to do with a new security procedure. I just wonder when they will have computerized databases for all immigration matters. Edited September 2, 2005 by meelousee
lopburi3
I suspect having open cameras will have the desired effect in any case. But as a preventive rather than enforcement action. Which in the long run should be the goal IMHO.
