Lost Tm6 Departure Card

Featured Replies

My friend has lost his TM6 departure card, he is due for his visa extention next week.

Does he report it to the police for a report or just go and explain at immigration.

Thanks in advance

It happens a lot, and just report it to immigration when he turns up there.

A very few indeed see to want you to report it to the police, but that is a real exception. Just go to immigration first and in all likely hood they will just look up the details and issue a new one. If he has a copy it would be nice.

Just turn up at immigration and look surprised when they see the card isn't there. A few " Mai loo's " and a smile and no problems

Agree. Just go to Immigration. I lost mine and it was sorted in a matter of minutes. That was 3 months ago (approx)

When I arrived the stapled my arrival card instead of departure card. The immigration officer just looked it up on the computer and wrote the number on the arrival card.... Should be no problem.

I also had lost my departure card but as i had scanned it i printed a new one thinking that would be accepted, The immigration officer at swampy sent me back to the checkin to get a new one and fill it out...almost missed my flight! This was just some weeks ago.

People make the Immigration people out to be really bad and unhelpful. I have never had any problem with them around the country. The last time I went out was with a guy with 3.5 years of overstay and the Immigration guy made a joke of it. They are just doing a job and like all people sometimes they have a bad day :D Like aiprport check in staff a lot of how they treat you is dependant on how you first treat them ;)

I lost my departure card the second day in Bangkok, so I was a little worried about it for the two weeks I was there. When I checked into the airline counter at Suvarnabhumi, where I also arrived, there was a pile of them next to the clerk, and she just gave me another one to fill out. Apparently it happens all the time. It didn't even take an extra 30 seconds.

Actually those are for Thai nationals as they fill them out on departure. But in the case of a lost one you just fill out a form and when they process/take at departure they may change the number to reflect your original as listed on computer if they still keep hard copy files (they used to all be kept).

Well, not really just for Thai nationals, because I am obviously not one. In any event, it worked out just fine! clap2.gif

OK , MOSTLY for Thai nationals, the arrival / departure cards work the other way round for them, fill in the departure section on exit, keep the arrival section for when they return.
