What Documents Are Needed When Arriving In The Uk

Hi guys, me and my wife are just about to go to the UK, and I just wondered what exact documents are needed when we arrive in the UK. She has her settlement visa and medical certificate but I just needed to know what else she has to produce when we get there. Just don't need any hassle when she's at the airport in England... Just her passport & her x ray certificate.

I gave my wife a card with My full name and address along with my phone numbers . landline and mobile , also a photo on it , But all they need is as been told , Ex ray and passport with visa stamp in it .

not asked about tb cert,when we went but of course you do need it.i went up to desk with wife as she was a bit nervous,was a bit chaotic at passport control,on a go slow or somet.

They are travelling together they can go to the desk together.

One word of caution is not to bring too much unnecessary paper work.

Not sure if this is likely to happen if you have a settlement visa, but people do get stopped at immigration and questioned, if the immigration officer is unhappy with the replies to the questions asked they search their luggage for documents.

Watching the UK Boarder Force a documentary on the work of UKBA it shows just how stupid some people are:

• Guy from Nigeria had crib sheet of most frequent questions he was likely to be asked with answers.
• Numerous students with bogus letters and certificates, many seemed to be studding full time at multiple collages at the same time.
• Wage slips from previous employments proving working or students working over 20 hours a week on previous visits.
• Guy with presume multiple entry visitor entry had spent 30 months out of the last 36 in the UK on inspection of his luggage the found a letter from Companies House reminding him his company accounts were over due.
• Guy on student visa, on searching his baggage an out dated original letter confirming a collage place had pieces of paper glued over the original dates with the current years dates, this had been copied and the copy submitted.

Best just review any paperwork carried.:jap:
