Egypt & Tunisia - A Road Map For The Reds & Yellows?

A road map for the world

It amazed me the first time I heard it 'Road Map' nothing to do with roads nothing to do with maps, I think it was one of G Bush's writers who came up with it, no wonder G.B. was thought to be slightly illiterate, couldn't choose writers more likely the case.

The demographics are very different. The population group most likely to engage in violent uprisings is male and aged between 15 and 30. Look at the national percentages; Egypt 30%, Tunisia 27%, Thailand 23.5%.

The majority of the people engaging in violent uprisings in Egypt are foreigners being funded to come in and cause trouble. Not much different from recent events in Thailand, except the paid troublemakers were not foreign nationals.

For better or for worse, the military in both countries is the glue that holds them together. The difference is that in Egypt the military has tended to give the common people the benefit of the doubt. In Thailand, they seem to side with the upper crust, as the leaders are essentially part of the upper crust.

Both regions have been powderkegs for some time. Dare I say it? Any region of the world with a radical Islamic element is at risk for catastrophic events. These fanatics view the events in Egypt as strengthening the califate and the inevitable next step towards a Sharia-based Islamo-facist world.

I don't see Thailand heading in this direction any time soon, but some of the symptoms between Egypt and Thailand are similar. Comparisons to the Red-Yellow struggles and disputes is a stretch at best, though.
