Hello

I have been in Thailand for almost 6 months now. I came on a two month tourist visa which I extended for another month. In november I went to Loas and got a non immigrant O visa (as a volunteer here in Thai) which expires 25th of Feb. I am curious to know if i can get a one month extension on this visa like you can with a tourist. I would prefer to get another month if possible and then go back to Loas in March for another three month visa. I seem to have problems making contact with the immigration department to ask them what the rules are. Thanks

A Non Imm Visa cannot usually be extended at Immigration unless you qualify for a 12 month extension.

Don't forget that you also need a Work Permit to be legal.

Work permit depends on what you volunteer at. I know that the Tourist Police, Immigration Volunteers & Hospital Volunteers seem to be exempt (in Phuket anyway)

An exemption to the WP requirement can only be made by Royal Decree. I doubt such decree exists.
