Hi Folks

I do apologise if this has been posted previously, either I cannot seem to locate it or having a very tough day searching here.

I am a UK Citizen and renewing my extension of Stay based on Thai Wife.

I am coming up to the time to start the process for "Renewing Extension of Stay Non-O". My question is, is if my "Length of Stay Until" date is May 02 2011, how long before (in days) can I start to reapplying? Is it 7/15/30 days before May 02?

Thanks in advance

Just a reminder that if you are basing your extension renewal on Baht 400,000.- in the Bank it must have been there for a minimum of 3 months prior to the application.

I think more correctly it is two months on the first application to extend and three months for future yearly extensions.

Not at every Immigration Office.

That's the rule according to a Chaeng Wattana Captain. She said also the application must be 100% correct otherwise her Boss upstairs would reject it. Previously they had been permitted to relax the rules a little but not anymore or perhaps until a

new Boss arrives.

The written rule is 2 months for every application.

It would appear that it was probably a mistake when the rules were drafted.

Some Immigration Offices are working to the rule as it is written while others are interpreting it as 2 months first time and 3 months thereafter.

Did mine last Friday in Khon Kaen. Money in the bank for 2 months , same as last year.

Always a good idea to check with the office first before applying.

Can you locate the rule for us because Chaeng Wattana were adamant that it was 2 months the first time and 3 months thereafter?

Thanks.

English Text.

Thai Text.

The section is 2.18 (6)

They are probably correct and the rule was drafted wrong, but different offices are using different rules.

Well, the English translation is quite clear that it's 2 months.

So is the Thai original. Assuming I have copied the right section. B)

Translation.

(6) In case of marriage with a Thai lady, the husband who is an alien must have an average annual income of not less than 40,000 baht per month or a money deposit in a local Thai bank of not less than 400,000 baht for the past 2 months for expenses within a year.
