F1fanatic
A 'friend of a friend' house-sat for me whilst I was away for 10 days and looked after my dogs. They were great - dogs fine, plants watered and everything as I had hoped. Worked for both of us, as he, his wife and young child lived in a small place in Phuket Town, whilst I rent a 2 bed house with a biggish garden next to a beach. I was mainly concerned about my dogs and was v grateful to be told the truth when I 'phoned (one not eating, but OK). That was in the first couple of days, after that I was out of 'phone networks coverage. He was a middle-aged farang with a family, so I was pretty sure everything would be OK, and it was. House-sitters are ideal when one has to leave for a short while, but one needs to be fairly 'canny' about who house-sits. I wouldn't dream of trusting a young person (farang or Thai) to look after my dogs, they are generally more interested in partying than fulfilling their side of the bargain!
