Favorite Sites To Catch Up On Thailand When Outside?

Featured Replies

Specifically Bangkok. I was looking for something like live web cams and found that there are practically none for BKK, but a few do exist for other locations like Pattaya or Khon Kaen, but seemed more like security cams. Thought it would be nice to watch a live sunset once in a while or see the main walkways to some of the big malls, for example.

The stickman website was good for one or two reads but I quickly found, especially while living there, that it sometimes seemed to border on fiction or otherwise didn't match at all what I experienced. Likewise I don't mind a bit of redlight here and there but my favorite scenes are just out and about in the city. Of the blogs and sites that I know of none seem to really do a good job of keeping good updates, balanced writing, and a solid array of pictures and videos. Youtube also seems to be quite hit and miss - some stuff is several years old and the search function doesn't bring up much good stuff. I know because when I lived there I posted up several recordings but my vids always got drowned out by those accounts that already ranked really high.

Are there any good sites that keep updated content, especially photos and vids?

Good question. unfortunately I don't have a good answer for you.

I too find my self in a similar situation.

The recent world wide economic down turn ,wiped out a lot of our savings, and I found my self, and Thai wife, having to come to the west for work again. Re-build some of my wealth and get more credits from my union for e better retirement.

Unlike some of the people in some forums, I love Thailand, maybe I have being lucky, maybe I have made my own luck, but my wife is the best, my in-laws are great. My Thai friends are great, Everywhere I go I am treated well, and the country… well I can go on for ever.

Anyway, I am in the states now, and I miss Thailand a lot. In My free time I search the internet for glimpses of my Thai life, and I am afraid the pickings are slim. Most of the forums are for the most part taken over by the complainers, I guess the others are out having a good life, or have being scared away by the gloom and doom crowd. I have done a search on Google “Thailand Blog” and I found a few blogs with good content. And like you I find my self on You tube watching clips of Thai life, and Practicing my Thai. My current project in the US is slated to be completed in the mid to end of may, and me and my wife hope to find our selves in Thailand again, with the people we love and miss. I look forward to some of the other replies in this forum, but I am not sure if the rules of this forum , allow for posting links to other sources that might be viewed as competing websites..
