Forget Reentry Visa Lost?

Here is the tricky situation

We are a family of 4 . 2 kids of 6 and 8 with ed visa and 2 parents with non o as taking care of the kids ( european family ).

The 2 adults get multiple reentry and the 2 kids simple reentry as usualy they only get out on etime per year.

We flyed out thailand for christmas and again last week forgetting our kids get only simple reentry.

At immigration airport they stamped our kids for only 30 days saying that without a reentry they can only get that .

We called phuket immigration saying they can do nothing and that we have to start again the hassle for a new visa and go to bangkok for that ???

As this already happen to somebody and how did you handle the situation?

I dont understand as on the last 5 years our visas have always been issued in phuket why we have to fly to bangkok ? and they said kids need to come with us ( usualy we manage their visa without them coming to immigration).

And our parents visa are on our kids so maybe they will ask us to show again the 500k on 3 months etc ....?

Maybe we could do nothing as i was told kids under 12 does not need a visa and dont pay overstay but i never find an official reference for that ?

My understanding is that children under the age of 12yr cantravel on their parents visa & don't need a visa themselves.

Kids under 14 do need Visas.

They do get their passports stamped for having an overstay.

They do not get fined for having an overstay.

Your kids extension of stay died when they left Thailand and they will have to start again.

Quite where that leaves your extensions of stay I am not sure as your reason for obtaining them no longer exists. Your kids have 30 day Visa Exempt Entries.

I should imagine that in the past Phuket could deal with it as you were re applying for extensions.

Now you have to start all over again from scratch a trip to Bangkok will be needed as most Immigration Offices do not upgrade to Non Imm Visas.

It is not clear if they stamped you in using re-entry permit - suspect they should not have done so. As said all extensions of stay are invalid and you (parents) if entered on re-entry permit are likely illegal and/or overstay as your extension of stay reason ended when children obtained 30 day visa exempt entry thus canceling there education extensions of stay which is the basis for your extensions of stay.

It is also policy not to allow use of education for immigration (which is what you have been doing) and normally only one parent will be allowed to obtain extension (I understand you are each using one child but believe some immigration officers will have an issue with that).

You have been obtaining extensions of stay - your children have lost there extensions of stay so must obtain non immigrant visa entry which often requires a visit to Bangkok or a Consulate outside of Thailand to obtain. Believe this should also apply to parents as there extension should end on end of childrens.

If they decide parents require new extensions of stay am sure the 500k bank requirement will be a part of that but there may be a 3 month visa period first.

Suspect you will need to visit immigration as you do have a complex issue.

Law changed 2 years ago and now each parents can legally gets extension on stay on one kid so my position was 100% legal ( former law was completely illogical).

When my wife came back with the 2 kids they still validated Her multiple rentry and gave her 7 months permission of stay which was the remaining period on her visa.

Thay gave 30 days only to the kids validating the fact that her visa even if obteianed because of the kids one is still valid.

I arrived today and get 7 months as well of course.

I am going to fly to singapore with the 2 kids and the british school papers, then ask for a non immigrant ED visa.

Then will go to Phuket immigration and ask for an extension of stay till the same date as our parents visas.

I think this can work without the 2 times 500K because for the kids extension of stay you do not need any money at the bank.

I dont want to take four tickets to go to bangkok immigration then spend there half a day as they cannot in my opinion issue a visa.

I did a mistake ok but it is strange that i cannot paying a fees get back their visas just because i forget to ask for an other rentry permit.
