Has anyone left their car at Suratthani airport for an extended time, i.e. a Month?

I'm off to the UK for a month later in the year and don't fancy paying BKK Airway prices. So was going to drive and fly from Suratthani -> Bangkok.

I'm just wondering if my car will be OK parked there for a month?

I left my car parked at Suratthani Airport for a week. No problem at all, you just have to leave an ID-document at the security at the entrance and you'll take back when you go away.

But for one month I cannot say

Matt can you not get somebody to run you there and pick you up when you get back ? It may be a little safer ? Either that or use the Lomprayah service that flys you to Surat from BKK then you take the high speed cat to Nathon all in ticket etc? Another option for you ;)

Thanks for the info Dunc. I'm just trying to work out a cheap way of getting to Bangkok. I don't want to pay BKK Airways another baht.

I'm guessing the car will be fine there, at the end of the day it's insured against theft. I've never really heard of cars being stolen here!?...

I left my car several time for more than 1 month at the Surat airport - no problem at all. Only requirement left an id at the guard house. There is also a bus service from the city to the airport (THB 150). As far I know ferry/bus ticket samui - surat THB 250. Complete trip will be then 250 + 150 = 400 THB. My experience, this is the cheapest way to reach Surat Airport.

Cheers!
