HIGHWAY POLICE HAVE NABBED SOME MAJOR DRUGS DEALERS

Highway police have seized major drugs agents who were preparing to transfer large quantities of marijuana to the southern region.

The Deputy Commander of the Central Investigative Bureau (CIB), Pol. Maj. Gen. VUDHI LIPTAPANLOP (วุฒิ ลิปตพัลลภ), has revealed that police officials from Highway Police Division have nabbed a drug trafficking gang in possession of more than 410 kilograms of marijuana, worth 8 million baht.

The drugs agents, who were found in possession of over 410 kilograms of marijuana, were identified as Mr ANUCHA PATHUMWAN (อนุชา ปทุมวัน), Mr SUTHEP PUMPAYAP (สุเทพ พุ่มพยับ), SOMCHAI PURKCHAROEN (สมชาย เผือกเจริญ) and JIRAWAT SAMLITRE (จิรวัฒน์ สมรฤทธิ์).

The suspects admitted that they were transferring this large batch of drugs from Laos, and they were transferring the drugs to small dealers in HATYAI (หาดใหญ่).

Will this have an adverse affect on the economic prospects in the South?

I wonder if the insurgents would lift their ban on Friday closing of markets if the weed were only distributed through the markets on Friday.
