March 5, 201115 yr Crime hot spots in Bangkok to be under police watch BANGKOK, 5 March 2011 (NNT)-The Bangkok Council has revealed 123 crime hot spots and has coordinated with the police to get CCTV cameras installed in those areas with full financial support. President of Bangkok Council Mr. Suthichai Weerakulsoonthorn said after meeting with Deputy Chief of the Crime Suppression Division (CSD) Pol Col Supisal Pakdinaruenart that besides installing surveillance cameras, new safety measures for Bangkok residents will also be formulated. According to Mr. Suthichai, robbery and rape are common crimes found across Bangkok. Bang Khae, Bang Bon, Bang Khun Thian, Bueng Khum and Chatuchak areas are among 123 of those that have recorded a great number of crimes in the capital city. Pol Col Supisal says there is enough manpower in the police division although there has yet to be CCTV camera system in place. Bangkok residents will also be told to keep their eyes on any suspicious individuals or activities and report to the police. -- NNT 2011-03-05
