Suvarnabhumi Airport Ready For Inaugural Flight

Featured Replies

The Thai television channels just all had live coverage of the event, so I guess it's official: Suvarnabhumi Airport is now open!

I'm flying back into Bangkok on Saturday so I look forward to landing at the new airport :D:D:o

I'm going to assume you are asking a serious question... The new airport won't be open 'til June 2006 at the earliest. Today's landings were just a face-saving exercise by Mr Big because he made the claim several years ago that the new airport would be ready on 29 September 2005. Mr Big landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport in a plane today, therefore he kept his promise. As I stated earlier, the whole farce today was disingenuous at best.

Won't be a problem, but customs may charge you import tax on your parachute. :D:D:D
