I am up for my marriage visa (Thai wife) renewal in a few weeks and am putting together all the documents that I need. I remember some of them from last year, but I just want to make sure I got it all. Would the following be enough?

- Passport

- Passport-size Photo.

- Wife's ID Card

- Tabien Baan

- Marriage Certificate

- Kor Ror (or whatever it's called, from Amphur, showing we're still married)

- Bank Statement showing 400,000 Baht (been there for at least 3 months)

- Letter from bank confirming balance.

- Photos from us in the house (not sure if it's still needed for renewal?)

- (3x Copies of everything above)

Am I missing anything?

Last week I did my 90 day at Chaeng Wattana.

I then visited the Extension Dept close to, to ask about extensions based upon a Thai wife. They have assured me that they now require the minimum bank balance of Baht 400,000 for two months as per the regulation.

:o Mine's up soon and my original KR2 is 10 years old. What should I do if knocked back at CW?

If only 10 years ago believe it will be in computer so any District Office can download and print a current copy for you if required. One of the reasons to make application early.

Go to the Amphur and get a fresh one, 20 baht.

This was required at Samui immigrations to prove that we still were married.

I don't understand this. KR2 is what, and how does it prove that you are still married ?

Okay, I know what KR2 is, and I produced it when I got my first extension last year. Why do I need to get a new one ? What can that prove ? If my wife is with me when I apply for the extension ( as is required ) then surely that is evidence that we are still together ?

Together for the day each year? The ledger entry helps to show that you are still married (legally at least). Nothing is proof but all is supporting evidence.

I can't say that I am convinced. So, I have to return to the Amphur where I married and get another copy of the KR2 with a recent date on it ? Or can I go to any Amphur and get a printout (?) as the marriage was only in 2009 ? Can I get someone to do this for me, or do I have to go personally ?

I gave the reasoning as I understand it - I am not trying to convince anyone. Any office can print it for you as all recent marriages are online; but am sure the person involved would have to be there to sign for it.
