I voted "Not Sure" because you didn't mention the source of this. If it is from a business, it is classic selling tactic; creating urgency / fear of loss. If it is from a personal source such as a friend or family member, it is a guilt trip and probably righteously delivered and deserved.

I have had to learn 5 languages over the years ( places i have lived / learned ) - thats the good part, the bad part is i speak / write non of them perfect. I do come across occasionally people who have a self perception of superiority cause they have a wider vocab, better grammar etc..........

That's kinda what I figured.

Definitely a little guilt trip action. Something that I think about once in a while as my parents age... they are still healthy now, but I will probably end up beating myself up someday when they are gone, because I spent so much of my life doing my own thing on the other side of the world.

Well, generally mail almost daily, and call 2x or 3x a week........ but when they are bored, then its " i am not getting attention ". Dont get me wrong, love my parents heaps, but sometimes need to straighten them up on their expectations. I do have a job and family to take care of too
