ISLAMABAD (BNO NEWS) -- At least 20 people were killed and several others were wounded during a clash between tribesmen and a militant group in Pakistan's northwestern Khyber tribal region, officials said Saturday.

According to Pajhwok Afghan News, the clash erupted in Tirah valley of Bara sub-district near the Afghan border on Friday evening following the murder of Maulana Hasan, a religious scholar of the Zakhakhel tribe. He was abducted two days ago by fighters loyal to the militant organization Lakhkar-e-Islam.

In retaliation, Zakhakhel tribesmen attacked Lashkar-e-Islam fighters, killing at least 20 people and injuring 50 others. Reports said most of casualties were militant fighters.

The clash came a week after 13 Pakistani soldiers, including two officers, were killed in a clash with militants in the same area.

Sounds like news that could have come from 500 years ago.

...and will probably be repeated 500 years in the future. B)
