Weather In May, Bit Of Help Needed Please

Featured Replies

I have mentioned in a previous post i have been coming to Thailand for many years but this is my first visit to Phuket,

am arriving in exactly 1 month ... does the weather differ from Samui / Pattaya ?? iv spent many an hour online and its crazy how different websites state different things, im reading its monsoon rains on one page and then sunny on another ...

i guess its extra hard to predict with all this unseasonal rain that has lashed Thailand ..

whats the opinion of the locals who are on here ??

thank you

All over thailand, may is a month with shifting einds, making it unpredictable.

You do get thunder storms in May but its fine most of the time

If you are coming from a Winter climate the rain will not worry you

It cools you down until you get acclimatized

The way the waether has been for the past six months come prepared for anything.

You do get thunder storms in May but its fine most of the time

If you are coming from a Winter climate the rain will not worry you

It cools you down until you get acclimatized

and during thunder storms in May, temp may drop to 25C in Phuket

otherwise temp is usually 28-32 in daytime, and down to 25 in night time

Can you tell us what the weather will be where you live in a month from now? Last year it was hot and dry. This year it has been cool and rainy in the dry season. Here is a link to the Thai Meteorological Departments 30 year averages. Link: ( 30 Year Averages) Although the weather the past couple of years has not been average .The weather is like the saying from the Forest Gump movie: "It's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you are going to get." Hope it turns out well for you, enjoy...
