westozzie
I am inviting expressions of interest for a expat co-invester who would like to join me in the expansion of my firang sausage manufactering business. I produce Australian breakfast style Beef, Pork and Chicken sausages and hotdogs which are being sold to restuarants and B&B businesses in Phuket and locally here in Bangkok on a small scale. Due to the popular response I need to purchase heavier equipment to produce larger amounts as the current equipment I imported from OZ is at full capacity. The Sausage market in Thailand is in excess of 40 billion baht per year and one company has 50% of market share which services mainly the Thai consumer .There is good opportunity to break into niche firang owned B&B,s,Bars and International hotels across Thailand and seek master distributors in ChangMai,Pattaya,Koh Samui and so on. All the flavorings are imported from Australia and local meat is used the finished product is of high quality and is flavoursome. The returns are excellent for both the customer and the business as the product intices repeat orders due to the taste and quality. I require help in the logistics and sales areas with a upgrade of equipment. The investment sort after is less than 20K AUD and is negotiable. This is a niche firang sausage market and can be exploited to the fullest with the right partner. Please feel free to email me for more information or to discuss this opportunity! [email protected] Regards, Lee
terdsak_12
Where can we sample these sausages? 12 years here and I've yet to taste an excellent farang sausage, some reasonable ones around, but not MMMMMMM MMMMMMMM MMMMMMMM sausages. And the CP type hot dog weiners that Thais eat are truely awful.

Digger
There is a company called F&B which specialises in importing and distributing farang foods. They previously had a tie up with Simple Simon, who makes sausages, Bacon etc out of somewhere in Pattaya. I understand the parting was not amicable, so if your looking for ready access to distribution expertise and potential investment for equity, they may be worth talking to. Sorry I dont know where they are based, but I believe its in BKK. They have distribution centres pretty much all over Thailand where there are expat concentrations. Khun Jean
WestOzzie, Great to hear about your success! Running at full capacity is a great achievement. But if i may ask, why look for a partner, it will only give you a headache. Different opinions, salary discussion, and to quote Yul Brunner etcetera etcetera etcetera.... And can i presume that you already make a decent living? If so, why start a new ratrace, you just escaped one or not? I can be complete wrong with these assumptions but i think they are valid reasons to not find a partner. I would continue to run at full capacity and if you really really want expand it slowly with your own money, or find a bank that will give you a creditline. That way you are in total control. A much better position for later when you want to expand again or sell or whatever. And no ugly suprises.
LivinLOS
All at once.. Jan in Valhalla (Patong) and pier has just set up making superb sausages from a Danish angle.. They have pepper / chilli / etc different flavours.. Also a buddy of mine has set up a shop on Nanai selling farang sausages, pies, imported bits and pieces both wholesale and direct to the customer... Don't gp down any Partnership routes if you can possibly help it. I speak from experience and only know of a few that have realy worked well. I knew and worked with my B/P for 10 years before we went into a Partnership. It lasted 2 years and then I had to buy her out as she decided that there was no need for her to permorm her duties in a way to which I was accustommed. Great idea though. bangers in Bangers

I really dont want to sell my rental property or my house in BKK.I am exploring finance options as we speak but a partner is only a option I am exploring incase finance is a no go becasue of beurocracy.Someone who can help me in some capacity would be great, that way it takes the pressure of a bit as I would have to call on customers as well as make sure the quality is consistant never the less I am sure i will work it out. greenfuji
A fellow West Auzzie here. If you want to explore some financing options in Perth I can help. There is no reason you couldnt setup a line of credit for example on your property here in Perth. Not sure what beaurcracy you mean but its generally fairly easy to get fiance especially in small amounts you have mentioned. PM me if you want. I think the maximum is around 70%. Your wife has to apply and you can be a garantee. I hear many different stories that vary from easy to impossible. A lot depends on the bracnh of the bank you visit. You can probably ask the manufacturer of the machines you need to give you a lease or sell you products with a 30-60 day credit. Don't underestimate the willingness of some suppliers to help you out. It can be in their interest too. Sell your car and buy another one with a loan. If you can show regular income it should be possible. In these circumstances you have to be very creative, but don't over estimate your power to pay back, allways leave room for unknown situations. Heng
I would continue to run at full capacity and if you really really want expand it slowly with your own money, or find a bank that will give you a creditline. That way you are in total control. A much better position for later when you want to expand again or sell or whatever. And no ugly suprises. Best advice so far. For me I'd leave out the bank part and just build on your own revenues though. But that's just me, I'd rather do without downward financing pressure.
