Movie Discounts 88 Baht Per Ticket

Kasikorn Bank (the one with the green sign) has a promotion for movies at EGV and Major theater outlets. It allows persons who have an ATM card marked "PRIVILEGED MEMBER" the chance to buy movie tickets for 88 baht apiece (not including 3D movies). You can use this privilege twice a month to get this discount. It allows you to watch movies for this price anyday at anytime (Digital movies have a higher but still discounted price).

Just remember that its good only at EGV and Major outlets. For those that live at Sukhumvit, that includes Major Ekkamai but not the Emporium theaters at Phrom Phong. I've also used it at the Paradise theater complex by Srinakarin. The tickets are presently 88 baht and are good for a set of tickets twice a month until the promotion ends. Like I mentioned earlier, bring someone thai with you either to the bank or to the theater to request using the card since employees may not understand what you are talking about. The employee will use the card for an ATM transaction of 88 baht per ticket (think for a max of 2 tickets per transaction). Major outlets also have a number of other promotions(you can only use one) that are listed on a board by the ticket offices (written in thai of course). Not sure how long more promotion will last.

BTW if you don't have a bank account PM me for the branch that will open an account with a tourist visa.

That promotion has been running for years, as far as I know it's only on their K-Max Debit Card, which has an annual fee of 500 Baht, though it does have meaningless insurance benefits.

There are some restrictions on the movie discounts, cannot use on new movies, weekends and the posh seats.

All their Debit Cards are marked "Privileged Member" it's the default setting, that's why you can pick them up on demand. You can get your name embossed on them and you still get the discount, takes a couple of weeks.

This promotion can be used on any movie at anytime provided that it is not a 3D movie. Digital movies are discounted but not available for 88 baht. Apparently the promotion you are referring to is similar but not the same. I do have a regular ATM savings account(not a K-Max Debit Card), with no annual fee. It pays to be able to read and speak thai. However, if this discount you speak of has been going on for years, it might have been nice if someone else posted about it, huh?

I guess "nobody" was interested in helping other thai visa members, huh?
