Thanks for the additional info- that does moderate the tone of the Guardian article, I admit, but the report still represents climate change as a serious danger (at least, taken seriously by the Pentagon).

I'm not sure how seriously this is viewed by the Pentagon but it can be used politically to show how the US is studying every possibility that could even possibly remotely impact national security....its alot easier to consider a study where no action is called for than to study some issue where you might actually have to do something.

And speaking of preparedness (read this as 'I'm going off topic now) I read in the news that the US federal gov't has improved their pre hurricane preperations by pre placing emergency supplies aroung the area where the storm is forecast to make landfall.....they must have read my suggestion in a previous thread.....anyway......good work on their part.
