April 26, 201115 yr Author Ok so maybe you would call it something else, she has a new passport from british consulate hong kong and has a business visa plus work permit for the last 7 years. So what I am saying is that her current visa has to be put into her new passport, is that not transfering?. TTM
April 26, 201115 yr Is it a Visa obtained from a Thai Consulate? Or an Extension of Stay obtained from Immigration? A Visa cannot be transfered. An Extension of Stay can.
April 26, 201115 yr Is it a Visa obtained from a Thai Consulate? Or an Extension of Stay obtained from Immigration? A Visa cannot be transfered. An Extension of Stay can. The above is correct. If your wife does have a visa she should be doing border runs at least every 90 days. If on extension of stay she should be address reporting to immigration every 90 days. If permission to stay is based on visa entry, she will have to use both passports for travelling until a new visa is required. Immigration can only transfer immigration stamps (ie, permission to stay/extension of stay/re-entry permits) and not embassy/consulate stamps.
