Malaysia Blames Thailand Over Cambodia Border Clash

What else would you expect from a Muslim state?

Would it surprise you that Malaysia is merely a secular state with a secular Constitution? It just happens that the Muslims form a significant majority of the population. Indonesia, which has the world's largest Muslim population is also secular. Turkey is also secular. But, Iran is an Islamic state. See the difference?

Misinformed

Thaivisa - Thai-English dictionary definition.

Misinformed: - To arrive at a conclusion based on available evidence which questions Thailand's infallibility on any matter.

Brilliant, it is obvious to all who reneged on a deal here, just as it is obvious who is the aggressor, now we have a foreign minister from a third party also stating who is to blame, no doubt Thailand will hide this from its own people or throw some mud back at malaysia in the hope that thais will believe it.

It is obvious that Cambodia trespassed on Thai soil based on the Franco- Siam treaty, and the MOU between Thailand and Cambodia that the border is at the Dongrek ridge-line, and there will be no settlement in the area yet to be defined. Cambodia breaches both agreements. Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister acted out of line to give an interview in contradiction his boss, and with superficial knowledge of the matter.

Hopefully even the last remaining defenders of the military can now start to look within and see how foolish they have been.

They've been playing us for fools for years and the Thai people are only now waking up to it.

I could not agree more with you. They do play smart guys to the people, only to find they are marginally follies, while moving Thai out of their homes and let the Khmer settled in freely.

Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister Denies Blaming Thailand for Clashes

Deputy Foreign Minister of Malaysia has rejected a news report claiming that the nation condemned Thailand over the long-standing border clash with Cambodia, saying his remark was abusively interpreted by the media.

Malaysian Deputy Foreign Minister Richard Riot Jaem denied that he lashed out at Thailand over the armed confrontation at the Thai-Cambodian border.

News reports earlier claimed that the deputy foreign minister blamed Thailand for the renewed clashes at the Thai-Cambodia border.

Richard insisted his interview was misled by a reporter who interviewed him on Tuesday in Kuala Lumpur after he finished a meeting about terrorism and teenagers.

He asserted that he was asked two times if he would scold Thailand, and that his answer was 'no'.

The deputy foreign minister went on to say he has informed the Thai Foreign Affairs Ministry that his interview was inaccurate.

The Thai Foreign Affairs Ministry has acknowledged his clarification.

Richard reiterated that the Malaysian government will not intervene in any domestic matters of ASEAN members.

Why should anyone retract? Clearly you are not familiar with diplomatic cover up of which this is a classic example.Thailand and Malaysia are fellow ASEAN member and I have no doubt there was pressure on the Deputy FM to soften the blow. But the point has been made, and correctly too.
