The local A rabs are cacking themselves. They know if anything happens and bits of Thais are blown all over town then they are for it and no one in the police/military will stop it. Seriously they are VERY worried.

I live beside a hospital and there has been a highly visible increase in security there - All cars in and out being stopped now.

well, i was last there last may for 2 weeks and it seemed to me the number of arabs was roughly the same as always (i've been holidaying in ptya for about 8 years). perhaps they used to be a bit more.

Maybe they buy a gun and shoot everything what has brown skin and black hair, just as protection.....

There is sizable arab presence in Pattaya but they have their own area and tend to stick there and non-arabs are generally not welcome there.

They are not generally welcome elsewhere as they are notorious cheap charlie's plus they have been known to treat the local women in shall we say a less than respectful manner.

I had to spend 2 days at PTY to get my car papers fixed and just came back to KrungThep today..... when I am there, I usually like to walk around at Royal Garden Plaza and Central-Big-C and was very very much surprised (and shocked in a way) that there were no additional security activities at all..... I could walk in at any open door there and nobody cared about me.... the only thing was, when I arrived at Royal Garden Plaza Parking lot with my car the next day, their parking, they checked the car before entering the parking area..... but what if any terrorist just walks in through the front door ? I am in Jakarta very often, and since many years, the shopping malls over there are very concerned about safety. For example, at the well-known BLOK M PLAZA there, absolutely nobody can get in without getting the bags or luggage screened.... and they even check ur body with those handhold-screeners used at the airport too.... doesnt matter if you are local, Arab or BULE (Westerner)....

in Thailand they have to do it the THAI WAY of course, means, there will be a lot of hectical und unorganized activity AFTER something bad happens.... dont u agree ?

I've noticed quite few middle easterners around South Pattaya, in areas I don't usually see them hanging around.

The new-look Polo go-go bar (renovated, reduced in size, and now with a "Members Only Club") has quite a few customers from the ME crowd.

I noticed that they are made to buy "memberships" if they want to go into the "Members Only Club", but other farangs (read: white) don't.

Now that Ramadan is upon us, I wonder if Pattaya and similar places will see an increase in ME tourists ?

Talking of Israel, though out history the Jews have been persecuted and moved from

place to place never owning a land of there own. As a result of the second world war
