Most ofter postings on the Forum are not positive. So I wanted to say "Good Job" and recognize a pleasurable experience at the Phitsanulok Immigration Office this morning.

I was there to get my Non-Immigrant Visa extension renewed and went from a "Wife" to a "Retirement" sub-type. While there I also took care of 90 day reporting and acquired a Single Re-entry stamp. The process went smoothly and there where no unreasonable questions or challenges. I was surprised that they did not require two or three copies of all documents as in the past. Always a good thing to try to save a few trees. First time I have experienced immigration using a computer to take a digital picture.

The immigration officers and admin. staff where efficient and pleasant. The office also had a Television tuned to an English speaking station for the benefit of waiting farangs.

The new office is well lighted and the air conditioning level was adequate. Parking is not a problem and food facilities are near-by.

All in all, I recognize the good job down by the immigration officers at the Phitsanulok office and the admin staff. It is an appreciated benefit to have the office in Phitsanulok and not have to drive to Nan, Tak or Bangkok for immigration services.

I hope eveyone else shares in my positive experience in Phitsanulok.

The fewer copies may have more to do with Retirement extension of stay which does not require approval in Bangkok. No copies is allows the policy in Bangkok. Did they also have the finger print scanner? Both photo and index scan here in Bangkok.

Always good to hear about a positive experience. From my own experience( i will go out a limb here) the majority of immigration officers are professional and try to provide good service. Thats not to say that they are all professional.

Yes - they have been vary good to us also. living near by we get there early. A ninety day report normally takes 2 minutes and a renew quick and easy enough. I never had a problem with Chaing Mai or Nan ether - in fact the staff in Nan were great to us all the time. Chang Mai was always friendly never asked for anything uncommon - I would say the only problem was they were vary busy all the time in Chang Mai and you could wait hours but that was not their fault anyway.

If you cross your t's and dot the I's do your reporting on time - I can't see any problems with immigration - but wish it cheaper
