Bangkok Dentist

I need to complete a root canal and crown and my regular dentist has injured herself and is out of the business for a while.

Can anyone recommend a dentist that they have had a dood experience with. I know that many people like to suggest a clinic or hospital that they like, but I'm not looking for that, Just looking for a dentist by name. Price doesn't really matter either. I'm happy to pay for quality.

Based on your needs, I would recommend Dr. Thara Srikrai at Thantakit Dental Center. He is at their main branch at the Thantakit Dental Building on New Petchburi road. Not cheap, but it is a one stop shop and he is very good. My wife and I just used him for dental implants and absolutely no complaints from either of us. They have their own dental lab so crowns, implants etc. are quick and any adjustments needed are done in less than an hour. We were referred to him by our regular dentist (Dick Graham at JUSMAG).

They have endodontists which is is who you will need for the root canal.

I have been going to Dr. Busakorn for seven years. She has done fillings and ceramic implants for me.

I didn't see any recommendations for specific dentists. There are a lot of people who like various clinics though. Maybe I'm not searching correctly. It never seems to work well for me.

personally, id second the dental hospital on suk49 although its not cheap and i am getting tired of the huge fees.

if price is no object - go wit the above. ive been a steady patient since 2001. all my work has been done here. i even did a amalgam/ceramic replacement of all my fillings.

steven, my girlfriend just had an extraction done at bidc. can you comment more on them? she was happy with the work although ended up paying more than dental hospital quoted her. she went with it because it was so local. i wasnt to pleased, seems like they jacked the price up on her - but there are grey areas in dentistry. ive been too lazy to check but they have a fee schedule online.

I understand the clinic is important, but to me it's the skill, empathy and integrity of the individual dentist who is working on my teeth that's the critical factor.

I come all the way from Phit'lok to see Dr. Marayat Charoenvej, DDS, at Samitivej, Sukhumwit. I just had a cleaning yesterday. She is the most gentle and empathetic dentist I have ever met. She makes me feel like I'm one of her family or something. When I had to get a crown, she recommended a specialist and then looked in on the whole procedure and kept asking me if everything was okay -- and it was. m You can even e-mail her directly for a special appointment.

I would add Dr Panlert at Phyathai hospital on Sri Ayudhya Road nearest BTS, Phyathai. I have sent many people to him over the years visiting from Europe and all have been delighted with his treatment, certainly the best dentist I have ever used.

The reason is that like all medical specialties here the better places have a specific dentist that does one thing only and in most cases all staff are good at what they do in these clinics/hospitals. Agree you do have to keep saying the specific dental procedure you require to start getting that type of response (if you even can - most readers will not have that type of experience to report).

Hi, thanks for the topic and the replies, they are very interesting and helpful, however, I just need to say at almost 65 years of age, and living in USA and now here the last five years, and many other countries, it is my opinion that the topic of the best Dentist is very much an opinion of the user. I had all my mercury removed in 1999 by one of the best Dentists in NY and that was his speciality, then when married and living in Munich, my wife at the time took me to her dentist and she had to replace allot of the expert from USA fillings and I felt this one was the best. Then living in Florida for awhile, looking for holistic Dentist there, I found someone who had his Dental Hygienest work on cleaning only and she was tough and rough, and everyone including us loved how she did it. Back to NYC, for a few years and we found others for root canals and that was there speciality. Who is to say who is the best, I have been to that Dental hospital and they were recommended as being the cleanest and the best, then someone recommended Bumrungrad Hospital and they were good for fillings, and then we bought a Condo in Bkk and they had a Dentist open shop in the new Condo and she is great, and she had a guy doing root canal and that was a painful and horrible experience. My lady needed braces and we found someone on Thonglor and she thinks they are the best. A few other people I met who have lived here a while, swear by their Dentist. You see what I am saying, to me they might be horrible or the best, but once I get to go regularly to someone that is nice and wants my business, we become friends and like this one in the Condo she replaced six veneers and that was an expensive job, and cleaning for me is every 3 months, since I don't want anymore root canals or cavities and she cleans very well, but it is just my opinion and relationship with her now. Someone else went to her and he hated her work. I would say you have to go with reputable and clean place and then find your best yourself. Good luck. All the best. Again as in the past I hope this does not offend anyone, it was just my opinion, and I wish everyone a good healthy smile.

I go to Bangkok Smile Dental Clinic Sukhumvit 21. The price is not too bad and Dr.Sunisa approached me in a very gentle manner. I would definitely recommend this clinic.

I had/have a little infection in my gums.

Happy the Dentist looking after me did not go after surgery to start, just to make money.

Recommended just some medication for a few weeks to see if it would go away, then surgery as a last option.

Shows me the people working there are not on commission & to take your dough, unless necessary.

They do an initial assessment, x-ray(s), etc.. then provide you with a bill on a worst case scenario. Mine was like 25k+.

But in the end, was just couple hundred baht in medication and some minor cleaning.

I just broke my crown, chipped. Anyone have experience doing crowns at the above mention recommended Dental clinic and may i know whats the price for changing crown?
