As I drive around, I can't help but to take in all the campaign posters put on every vertical surface. Some are fairly normal by western standards. You have the pseudo military ones with the white uniforms that make the candidate look like either a war hero or a doorman at a swank hotel. You've got the "regular guy" posters showing how in touch the candidate is with the unwashed masses.

But some make you wonder as to the campaign managers. There is one on Phetkasem which has the side view of some guy in a pink shirt and looking like the village idiot. He may be a bright guy, but he the way he is posed makes him look like he has an IQ of 50. Then there is Chuwit. He points at the camera with an angry look on his face, as if telling the evil doers to get out of his country. One has both hands along his face ala the Home Alone kid, as if he is horrified by what is going on in Thailand. Then I guess he decided to compromise with only one hand on his face and pointing with the other. All of these with theatrical expressions on his face.

I can just see his team at the photo shoots. "Please Khun Chuwit, look outraged! Show you are a strong man. Oh, good, Khun Chuwit, you nailed it. They are going to love you!"

I am not slamming anything Thai here. Cultures are different. I just get a kick out of some of the posters. :)

Chuwit's posters are always 'colourful'

The last ones had him with a pair of binoculars to suggest that he would be seeking out corruption. The bloke's a bit of a nut-job, for that reason alone I think it'd be great if he was made PM.

Saw one today at Lad Prao Bangkok. Didn't notice for which party, but it showed a youngish female and apparently a list of promises. Most were in Thai, but mysteriously two were in English and promised 'PC tablets to all school kids' respectively 'Free Wifi'. Are any non-thai speakers having voting rights in this country?

So what is with the preponderance of pink shirts in the posters? After reading this thread, I was looking more at the posters today on my way to work, and quite a few of them featured candidates in pink shirts.

Pink is an 'I love the King' color but you're not part of the yellow or red protest groups

I think it's a statement of neutrality on the whole red/yellow issue.

There was a 'pink shirt' movement for a brief period, consisting of people who were fed up with the whole thing.
