Finally me and the g/f got round to fitting it today (been sitting in the house for 7-8 months gathering dust) , and did i notice any difference from before fitting it ...............WELL HELL YES........along with the pro chip previously fitted it transforms the performance............

Next thing, do they do K &N`S for these pajeros...Mmm?

Thanks MRO for the link on the projectors....will give them some thought........next thing to fit are the fitt mirror caps......again , been sitting around for the same time gathering dust....:whistling:

Yes, the dump pipe dies it's job - but the sound it makes takes some geting used to, heh :)

K&N Filters are readily available for the PJS (same part # as Triton) - my best guess is that it was worth another 8-10HP in the upper rev-range.

An EGR blocking plate also adds a few more HP (down low in the rev-range) and reduces black smoke..

Dump pipe?

A section of pipe that replaces the cataytic converter attached to the back of the turbo.

Well today was the fitting of the colour coded FITT mirror covers, obviously people who know of them are aware they have blue led`s for the side lights and the standard led`s` for the indicators....and i suppose the added extra of welcome led lights........they go well with the Simply cool auto folding box fitted last year.

If your`e like me you dont trust thai fixers to touch your car.....so me and the better half got stuck in, over the years i have done many many mods to cars and motorbikes and still do to this day, and being an ex tradesman in the electrical side , i will tackle anything first before handing the job out...

It took us all day, taking time to do the job right ( eg. not bursting poppers on the door skins and concealing wires with shrouds and the like)...

But, a point for others....rather than trying to feed wires thru the bulkhead to the engine bay for the turn signal and side light feeds, i located all i required under the foot panel on the drivers footwell, we just pulled the rear lights to check for colour codes and identified them in the foot well.....a far better and simple way rather than pissing about under the hood......hardest job was feeding the wires for the mirrors thru the rubber door boots to the inside of the footwells...JOB DONE....

For MRO , yet agian.....I will be down in the mango soon, can you give me any good directions to the best stockist of the K & N please, pretty please...thxs again

Oh, and i`m off now to look for a auto closing of the windows by the door lock remote ....just so the missus dont forget to shut them when out alone...:D or can it be done by DIY via OBD-II connector

and any ideas where to get the mistsi software....? My local service center are crap...

Try contacting Khun Oan from Absolute Premium Parts: autopart_online [at] hotmail.com - no need to go to BKK, they can EMS it to you. For memory the PJS K&N cost 2100 Baht from them (most vendors around 3K), and they also did really good prices on the genuine K&N cleaning kits.

MRO can tell me where to obtain the doulble usb outlet you installed on your vehicle I've been looking hard to find.

The USB ports themselves were purchased from a little PC repair shop for 60 Baht - the rest was done with a drill, nibbling tool, soldering iron and hot glue gun ;)

Good service from Oan on the K&N filter I ordered last night and it's on the way with ems. MRO I need some locking wheel nut's for fortuner any contact's.

The first thing you should do is remove the chip and see whether or not the problem persists. If it does, leave it out and take the car to Mitsu for service. If removing the chip fixes the problem, it appears it's time for new one - I note that the more recent versions of Racechip use a new housing - perhaps the old design wasn't good at keeping water out?

My chip played up after 3 years, I just altered the settings and it is fine. As IMHO says try without the chip. You might have the installation bridge in the ride glove box. Just unplug the chip and replace with the bridge to see what happens. If not back off the dials a couple of clicks and see what happens.

Thanks for the replies guys, i will remove the chip....

p.s......i seem to have lost the basic settings for the race chip, the ones it came set at....usual i put them away somewhere save ...lol.

i have the race chip for the 2.5 sport, can you guys remember the factory settings please on the dials....best regards

URGENT help req'd.....as above i disconnected my race chip, BUT it would appear that the issue is not with the chip, the pins on the car side ( male plug ) seem to have failed .....chip plug came off easy but original plug wont go on, then i tried the chip plug back on same result, no go...

Can i just unscrew the sensor into the injectors and get a new one, do any of you guys have an engine manual, and what is the cost of the sensor.....

I'm at your mercy guys...please advise as i need the car daily and no it is in limp mode...thanks

Sorry to hear about your problem. However, it seems a textbook example on why not to modify the motor in any manner.

Do the chip manufacturers provide a warranty on their products, in case the motor goes bust?

Are you sure it's all aligned properly? It's impossible to see the commonrail socket clearly, and it can take some patience to get a plug on...

Posted

I'm pretty sure it's aligned up ok as the plug has can only go on one way on the plastic guides and the pins are recessed below the surface..

But i'll have another go, is the part called the common rail sensor ?

Posted

Panic over,

i managed to remove the rail sensor....a bitch to get at.....on removing it the plastic insert of the race pro plug had been left behind in the sensor socket....

So be warned it could happen to others, i suggest removing the plastic insert ( which just clips in ) and super glue it in to the race pro plug....it's used to align the pins so it is still needed....

Off to blast out the black smoke and then i'm off to work....thanks guys

Got another request - the new model pajero has a guard along the doors (not sure if its an actual guard, or what its called) ... at my 70k service mitsu said they have em, but exxy at 3-4k. Anyone have a contact for these?

Or alternatively another option for guarding the door edge against hitting pillars etc? - I saw Honda has some nice film strips that look invisible. 3M makes similar, but availability in TH??

Either the prices have gone up (doubled) or the side protection moldings for the Triton, which are identical to the PJS, are a lot cheaper...

Try these part numbers:

MN117413WCT

MN117414WCT

MN117417WBT

MN117418WBT

IIRC, this set, pre-painted in white pearl and ready to DIY stick-on use to cost ~1700 Baht
